Do these work?
Take a moment here. Think about how people have shared with you. Taught you. Think of those whom you hold close to your heart. The conviction here is that those who have impacted you; shared with you; shaped you; demonstrated life to you did so with actions. Not words.
You paid attention. You noticed. You witnessed it lived out in front of you. Movement. Reactions. Choices made. Oh sure, there were words and there were explanations, but it was the actions of others that have had the greatest and most meaningful impact on you and me.
Church and it’s body can not- must not- should not simply talk. It does not work. Being the loudest voice does not make you “right.” Screaming your beliefs does not “validate” your position. Do not allow your religion to become American politics.
This is not the way of Christ. The life of a loser loses out on this method and looks closely at how Jesus moved and shared and acted and reacted. Peter says it in this way:
Dear friends, you are like foreigners and strangers in this world. I beg you to avoid the evil things your bodies want to do that fight against your soul. People who do not believe are living all around you and might say that you are doing wrong. Live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and will give glory to God on the day when Christ comes again.
1 Peter 2:11-12
Life lived with actions and movement. Not words. Live in a way that is noticed. That Jesus is noticed. And more importantly where Jesus is lived through you. Lose the words.
